ElectraGuard
Tri-Layer ESD Flooring System
Outstanding Longevity,
Aesthetics and Conductivity
Titanium like wear resistance, unrivaled electrical
performance
The Electra Guard Tri-Layer ESD
Flooring System: A fully compliant paint on esd flooring
system that rivals the wear performance of esd vinyl, static
control rubber
and thick set esd epoxy flooring at a fraction of the cost.
The ElectraGuard Tri Layer System incorporates three coats
of state of the art fully conductive thin set epoxy followed
by two coats of ElectraThane metallic enhanced sealer (for
added wear resistance and moderate shine) followed by a top
coat of ElectraGlaze ESD Floor finish (for easy scuff
removal and a mirror like shine). The system is
designed for application on substrates including concrete,
existing well bonded VCT, standard and antistatic vinyl's,
standard and antistatic thick set epoxy and more. With specifications that meet or
exceed the latest most stringent standards including the new
ANSI EOS ESD S 2020 2007, ElectraGuard Tri-Layer Tames
the Static Beast before it can take another byte!
Step 1:
ElectraGuard (general application instructions). Prepare
substrate, install grounding foil (see
full instructions for details). Prepare the ElectraGuard carefully: Catalyzed ElectraGuard should be
used within six hours of mixing, therefore prepare only the quantity
necessary for immediate use. Add the pre-measured catalyst to
epoxy base. Stir gently until the catalyst has been thoroughly
mixed in (a low RPM drill may be used with a rotary mixing attachment but try to not beat air into
the material). Allow the catalyzed mixture to stand 5 minutes.
Utilizing a short nap roller or brush, carefully apply a thin uniform
coat of catalyzed ElectraGuard around perimeter walls, doorways etc
(about 6" width and try to not get any on walls ;) After perimeter
of room is completed utilize short nap rollers (18" wide with long
handle extensions work best) to roll a thin uniform coat through out the
remainder of the area. The initial coat will cover approximately 250 to
500 ft 2 per gallon. Allow the initial coat to dry for
5-7 hours or longer and apply a second coat. Second coat coverage
is approximately 500-600 ft2 per gallon. Allow the second coat to
dry for 8 to 12 hours and apply a third cost. Third
coat coverage is approximately 500-600 SF per gallon. Finished floors may be opened to light traffic,
under normal curing conditions, after 12 hours.
See
full scale installation instructions for further details.
Allow coats to cure for a minimum of 48 hours (good
environmental airflow) or 72 hours (compromised
environmental airflow) prior to proceeding to step 2
(topical coatings of Electrathane Sealer).
Step 2:
ElectraThane (general application instructions).
Thoroughly remove loose dirt and dust cured ElectraGuard via
sweeping (do not use sweeping compounds). Remove
imperfections if any (such as bubbles and splatters) from
ElectraGuard via light scraping followed by vacuuming.
Agitate ElectraThane sealant in container prior to use, pour
into clean contaminant free bucket and mop on one thin
even coat using non linting synthetic finish mops. Allow
coat to dry (depending on humidity and temperature) for 60
to 90 minutes before re-application of second thin coat. Two
coats are or more are recommended. ElectraThane does not
readily lend itself to high speed polishing but has a good
as applied luster and excellent slip resistance.
Allow coats to cure for a minimum of 12 hours prior to proceeding to step
3
(topical coatings of ElectraGlaze Floor Finish).
See
full scale installation instructions for further details.
Step 3:
ElectraGlaze (general application instructions). Using a
clean Rayon finish mop or wax applicator, apply a minimum of
one thin even coat of ElectraGlaze allowing finish to dry 2
to 4 hours prior to allowing traffic on floor. Two coats
are recommended for optimum performance. Buffing is not
required unless high mirror like shine is desired. Note:
Avoid application during high humidity conditions, use thin
coats ONLY.
See
full scale installation instructions for further details.
The ElectraGuard
Tri-Layer ESD Flooring System meets latest
standard of S2020-2007 for esd conductive flooring and ANSI/ESD STM97.1-2006
resistance to
ground in combination with Operator / Heel Grounders /
ESD Flooring. ElectraGuard Tri-Layer meets or exceeds the
requirements of Federal Specifications LF-475a and
SST-312b for flexibility, dimensional stability,
resistance to reagents and residual indentation.
